Beating the chill of your life…Walk Faster

What’s the feeling of winter? The cold and the chill! A time when the sun hides for days behind the blanket of a thick soot of clouds and the freezing winds hit your spine at a ravaging speed.

What should you do to beat the cold? Stay warm, cocoon yourself in the heat of the blankets or the heaters in your homes, offices and other spaces…or just walk faster than you regularly walk!

Walk faster? How is walking faster going to beat the chill of the winter?

If you symbolically relate winter to the times of your life, it would be the moment in time when you reach your point of coldness. These are times when you are at your lowest, times when you feel extremely unhappy with everything that’s been going around, when the keys that you have in your hand do not match with the doors that are to be opened and when you look around for help, you find that the sunshine of support is hiding amidst the darkness.

These are trying times, difficult phases and testing moments. And these are the times you need to walk faster. Faster than your normal speed. Take the chill head on and beat the stars out of it!

Let’s take a closer look first from the physical point of view.

When you walk faster than your average walk during a winter morning, you find that for the first few minutes the winds hit your ears and tears your nostrils at a ravaging speed. For every step you take, the wind tries to throw you back and hit you harder than the last one.

However, as you continue pacing up, you realize that the wind is not as unfriendly as the one you met when you started. With gradual progression, a sense of heat is generated and suddenly you feel that the external environment has conditioned itself to your pace.

You start feeling much warmer and the cold of a winter morning becomes less unbearable to say the least. The nose adjusts itself to the cold and the spine starts generating heat…And you no longer curse the winter for its freeing coldness.

Now let’s take a look from the psychological point of view.

You are down and hurt. Things are not working as you want them to. You have been giving your best shot to life but the reciprocation has not been as you anticipated. People whom you look around for support are not there to hold your hands and walk you through the freezing moments of your life. And this time of your life, as you feel is generally miserable.

These are the times when you get up and start walking in a pace much faster than your regular one. These are times when you need to beat the chill of momentary darkness and wade your way towards the bright sunshine that awaits you in the horizon.

Pace yourself up!

– Instead of looking for answers only from one or two avenues, you multiply your avenues.

– Instead of walking up to a few people for help, you walk out to a larger group seeking solutions to your issues.

– Instead of working for less number of hours you multiply the number of hours and feel the difference.

– Instead of making a few phone calls, multiply the phone calls.

– Instead of staying away from your loved ones, you share your queries and request for solutions.

The solution to your issues lies in ‘pacing up.’ In times of freezing cold, physically and psychologically, walk like you’ve never walked before. Beat the chill of the winters of your life and feel the positive difference.
