Smile - Nat King Cole

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

** Words by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons

The tune for this song was written by Charlie Chaplin and is the closing music for his masterpiece "Modern Times." It plays as The Tramp (Chaplin) and the Gamine (Pauline Goddard) walk together down the road and away from the suffering they have experienced throughout the film. The message of the song is even more powerful and poignant if one the original context.

I love this song! Its just so simple!

Smile, even if things get really bad, because everything would be okay: just smile. People often neglect the simpler things in life, getting too caught up in all superficial things. Life is actually just that simple. Smile!

Hey, and thanks for making this blog! Its really motivating - music can really touch and inspire a person. I bookmarked it!

Remember to just smile! ;)
