Motivational Thought : We Attract What We Focus On

What we allow ourselves to focus on is what tends to transpire in our life. Therefore the question we must continuously ask is, “do I want more of this in my life?” — if the answer which comes back to you is anything short of “YES!” then you need to shift your thinking to focus more on those things and experiences that you do want to see occur in your life.

Awareness and knowing when our thoughts are no longer serving us helps to move us in the direction of the goals we have set for ourselves and is an important part of getting back into alignment, back to the place and doing those ongoing actions which are required of us if we truly wish to see our dreams through to completion.

    Hi Dear Josh,

When you wrote, “Awareness and knowing when our thoughts are no longer serving us helps to move us in the direction of the goals we have set for ourselves and is an important part of getting back into alignment…”, you were so right!

I have a spiritual support group and there’s been so many times that I’ve told someone that their thoughts were behind their emotions, their outcomes, their incomes, their lives, and some thoughts should never be thought (because they do not serve us at all), and so many times people don’t want to believe that their thoughts have anything to do with anything in thier lives.

Not long ago, a friend who has had many struggles in her marriage, and who lost both parents in a year’s time, called me and said, “Pamela, I need to go to a Psych Unit or something. I’m suicical but because my husband is a BIG Pastor and I’m his wife, he doesn’t want me to tell anyone how I feel and I’m barely hanging on.” Of course, I encouraged her to go to the hospital right away. To her husband’s embarrassment, she was admitted, immediately. Two weeks later, she called me and said, “It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. And do YOU KNOW WHAT? You know all this time you have been trying to tell me that my thoughts were behind some of my most catastrophic and crazy emotions? Well, on the first day at the hospital, the doctor wrote on the board, “99% of your emotional crisis is caused by your thoughts.” And she went on to say, “I have to tell you that someone has been trying to teach me this for quite sometime and I’ve been rejecting the teaching, and just wanting to vent…and vent…”

It was one of the most affirming talks I have had with anyone in a long time.

Thank you for your site. I love, “Live Big!” I can tell that you “Think Big”…
